NATO : From Global South to the Balkan Case- Is Nato working for peace ?

Le Vendredi 27 Mai 2016, à 18 : 30 hrs, au syndicat  General Workers Union , à Valletta, s’est déroulée une conférence –débat exceptionnelle à Malte , sur le Thème de L’OTAN- – organisée par notre Coordination ALBA MALTA NORTH AFRICA en partenariat avec la Tricontinental Anti Imperialiste Plateform de Londres  et le Collecif Askavusa de Lampedusa ( Italie) .

Les intervenants présents étaient les suivants : Sukant Chandan  de Londres, Lucio Santin de l’Italie, et Serdjan Stankovic de L’ex-  Yougoslavie.

Le public a été très nombreux, avec la présence du  corps diplomatique Russe  Monsieur Alexandre Oparin et Vassiliev Michael, et du  corps diplomatique Egyptien avec L’ Ambassadrice Magda Baraka  , outre les d’étudiants, salariés, et activistes.

Le débat a commencé avec L’ouverture de la journaliste Ramona Wadi qui a introduit  le discours ecrit par la  Représentante Sinia Benigassan au nom de ALBA MALTA NORTH AFRICA en precisant  les objectifs  et le cœur du  débat  sur l’OTAN- des questions clés ont été posées : L’OTAN et l’implosion du capitalisme, Son expansion vers le SUD/ EST et l’encerclement graduel de la Russie et la Chine ( deux marchés encore protégés) qui échappent à la rapacité des monopoles de la Triade  ( USA/UE /JAPON) , le complexe militaro-industriel et l’émergence de nouveaux blocs régionaux comme les BRICS, CELAC , UNASUR, ou le  Shanghai Cooperation Organization( SCO)  .  Ceci entrainant la multiplication des guerres imperialistes et les millions de morts et de déplacement de population.

Les recommandations de la Coordination  reposent sur l’urgence et la nécessité de sortir de l’OTAN, sortir de l’UE, sortir de l’Euro et sortir du Capitalisme par la socialisation des Monopoles par protection populaire.

Dans le même temps des projections de vidéos étaient diffusées comme la «Sommet Gorbatchev Bush en 1989″ à Malte, ou le documentaire  TELESUR de Abbi Martin : » les refugiés de L’OTAN»–

A pris la parole ensuite, Monsieur Sukant Chandan sur le thème de L’OTAN – NATO , NATO ALLIES  AND THE GLOBAL SOUTH -AN EXPANSION Or IMPLOSION OF CAPITALISM?-

Pour expliquer l’actuelle  situation il fit une brève analyse de l’histoire du capitalisme et un parallèle avec les années 30 pointant sur l’exacerbation des contradictions impérialistes entre les capitalismes matures ( La Triade USA/ EUROPE/ Japon ) et les pays émergents avec comme conséquence  la montée du fascisme et le racisme. Cette histoire se répète semble t il  avec les mêmes farces: nous avons un faible militantisme anti impérialiste , pas de camp socialiste  comme sous l’URSS et  les anciens et les nouveaux  sociaux-démocrates (SYRIZA, Podemos, Corbyn etc) jouent le même rôle de la social-démocratie des années 1930 – leur rhétorique attire les gens, mais ils sont fidèles au système et ne peuvent  pas donner aux travailleurs  un moyen de sortir de la paupérisation ,  de sorte que leur échec pousse indirectement les gens et l’histoire vers le fascisme.

Il a conclut en faisant un appel sur l’ URGENTE nécéssité de L’Unité Anti impérialiste pour y faire face maintenant ou jamais .

L’activiste et anthropologue  Lucio Santin a ensuite enchainé, sur le thème  de la Militarisation de Lampedusa et les Migrants.

Il a posé un certain nombre de faits sur la militarisation de l’ile avec l’installation de 6 RADARS par l’OTAN, les operations  Mare nostrum , les drones, navires de guerres et sous marins nucléaires  outre  la pollution atmosphérique et les consequences sur la santé des habitants.

Cette militarisation n’est pas liée à la sécurisation des frontières, comme on l’entend dans les  maintreams, mais bien à espionner et surveiller l’Afrique du Nord. Le but officiel annoncé comme étant Humanitaire et le contol du traffic ,n’est qu’un pretexte  qui cache des intérêts géostrategiques bien précis comme les surveillances de pipelines italiens de l’Afrique du nord.   Il a Appellé à la Sortie de l’italie de L’OTAN, de L’UE des Monopoles  et du capitalisme.

Afin de commemorer les 25 ans de la guerre des Balkans et le cas de l’ex Yougoslavie avec M. Serdjan Stankovic,  a témoigné de son expérience de la guerre dans sa patrie en évoquant  aussi le Kosovo. Nous le remercions pour sa touchante exposition.

Ont pris la parole les diplomates russes avec une excellente présentation de Monsieur Vasiliev Michael sur la strategie et l’ expansion vers l’Est   de l’Otan.

Le développement de ses nouvelles bases – bouclier anti missile  – en Bulgarie,  Roumanie, Pologne et les pays baltiques sont une stratégie qui vise l’encerclement  de la Russie   en utilisant le territoire européen comme un tremplin – l’objectif étant un contrôle total sur les ressources naturelles et la destruction des autres concurrents.

La Russie  sous sanctions économiques,  se voit obligée de  sécuriser ses frontières face au non respect du Traité d’Helsinki 1975 : l’arsenal nucléaire devait être baissé de 35 % , et les frontières de sécurité ne devait jamais aller au delà des 500 km.

Le Conseiller , M. Oparin Alexander souligna, qu’un pays qui a eu plus de 26 millions de morts lors de la deuxième guerre impérialiste ne veut absolument pas une autre guerre. Il a aussi abordé la question des migrants du à la misère  perpétrée durant plus de 5 siècles par L’Occident, l’heure conclut il est arrivé pour La Triade de Payer la facture.  La Russie aidera ses amis et ses alliés.

Ce débat a suscité de vives réactions dans le public ,  une jeune camerounaise a pris la parole et a été applaudie par le public sur son intervention , en demandant l’expulsion de  la Multinationale Total de L’Afrique.

Nous sommes satisfait que ce rapprochement ait pu avoir lieu entre des peuples de différentes nations agressées ou détruites par cette organisation criminelle,  à l’heure ou la manque de solidarité internationaliste est faible  surtout dans  le contexte européen et maltais .

Nous avons conclut avec de la Musique  – interpretée par nos Musiciens Latinoamericains , Cesar, Fernando, Nolasco et Ernesto qui on dédié cette chanson « Chacarera del Exilio / Pizzica di San vito «   à tous les exilés et les refugiés de l’OTAN.

Le succès de cette conférence nous donne le courage nécessaire pour poursuivre nos activités  et continuer dans le rapprochement entre L’Amérique Latine,  l’Afrique du Nord et les pays du Sud de la Méditerranée  pour la paix, la solidarité et la démocratie socialiste.

On Friday, May 27, 2016 at 6: 30 hrs, at the General Workers Union, Valletta, took place an exceptional -Debate  in Malta, on the issue of  NATO- organized by our Coordination ALBA MALTA NORTH AFRICA with the partnership of  the Tricontinental anti-imperialist Platform and Collectivo Askavusa Lampedusa (Italy).
The speakers were: Sukant Chandan fom London, Lucio Santin Italy, Serdjan Stankovic from Former Yugoslavia.
The audience was numerous, with  the presence of  the Russian Counsellor  Mr. Alexander Oparin,  The Third Secretary  Mr Michael Vasilyev,  and H.E  Ambassador Magda Baraka  from  the Egyptian Embassy- in addition to students, employees and activists.

The debate was chaired by journalist Ramona Wadi who introduced on Behalf The Coordination , the speech written By the President Sinia Benigassan , stressing the objectives , the   last activities of the  coordination ALBA MALTA NORTH AFRICA   In Tunis and the heart of the debate on NATO-

Key questions were exposed: NATO and the implosion of capitalism, its expansion to the South and the East ( South Command – Africom ) ,  the gradual encirclement of Russia and China– both still protected markets that are beyond the greed of the Triad US / EU / Japan monopolies – , the military-industrial complex,  the emergence of new regional blocs such as the BRICS, CELAC, UNASUR, or the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the consequent worldwide imperialist wars that are perpetrated in the name of “democracy” or “Humanitarian intervention “  provoking millions of death and  forced displacement  .

The recommendations of the Coordination are based on the urgent need to get out of NATO, out of the EU, out of Euros,  and out of Capitalism by the socialization of monopolies under popular protection.

During the talk ,  video projections were broadcasted as the Bush- Gorbachev Summit in 1989 in Malta, Power point presentation and Abbi Martin documentary for TELESUR: “Refugees of the NATO”-
The indian political analyst  Sukant Chandan made a brilliant and dynamic speech on NATO, NATO ALLIES AND THE GLOBAL SOUTH -AN EXPANSION OR IMPLOSION OF CAPITALISM ? –

To explain the current  situation he made a brief analysis on  the history of capitalism and a parallel with the ’30s with the exacerbation of imperialist contradictions between mature capitalism (the Triad USA / EUROPE / Japan ) and emerging countries – he stated that this time history repeats itself with so many jokes.

We have a weak militant socialist and anti imperialist alternative as they had then, and  the old social democrats (plowing parts etc) and the new ones (Syriza, Podemos, Corbyn etc) are playing the same  role as social democracy of the 1930s – Their rhetoric attracts people but  they are loyal to the  capitalist system and cannot give people a way out so their failure indirectly pushes people and history towards fascism.
He concludes with a URGENT CALL  on the need for the Anti imperialists to  Unite and face fascism  now or never.
The activist and anthropologist  Lucio Santin continued on the Militarization and Migrants of Lampedusa, the southern island of Italy.
He exposes a number of facts about the militarization of the island with the installation of 6 NATO RADARS, drones, warships , nuclear submarines underlining  the environmental and health consequences to the inhabitants  in the island.
He stressed that this militarization is not related to border security, as written in mainstreams,  but to spy and monitor North Africa. The official “Humanitarian purpose” is only a pretext that conceal specific economical and geostrategic interests as the control of Italian pipelines in North Africa.He also stressed the necessity of the 4 exits ( out of Nato, out of Eu, Out of euro and out of Capitalism).

As we also wanted to commemorate the 25 years of the Balkan wars and the case of the former Yugoslavia,  Mr. Serdjan Stankovic, made a touching  testimony on his experience of the war in his country and Kosovo.
Then we had the honor to have the intervention  of Russian diplomat Mr. Michael Vasiliev  who gave us an excellent description on the strategy and the eastward expansion of NATO. The development of its new bases – anti missile shield – in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and the Baltic countries are a strategy of encirclement of Russia by using the European territory as a springboard – the goal being a total control over natural resources and the destruction of other competitors.

Russia under economic sanctions, is obliged to secure its borders against the non-compliance with the Treaty of Helsinki, 1975 : the  US nuclear arsenal had to be decreased by 35%, and NATO  should never go beyond 500 km  Russian boundaries . This agreement was betrayed by US.
The Russian Counsellor, Mr. Alexander Oparin pointed out that a country that has had more than 26 million deaths in the second imperialist war absolutely does not want another war.

He also addressed the issue of migrants due to extreme misery perpetrated for over 5 centuries by the looting of the West,  he concluded by saying that time has come for the Triad to pay the bill.

This debate has provoked interesting reactions in the audience, a young Cameroonian was applauded by the public demanding the expulsion of Total corporation  from  Africa.
We are satisfied that this rapprochement could take place between people of different nations attacked or destroyed by this criminal organization, considering that the lack of internationalist solidarity is low especially in the European and Maltese context.

We endend this meeting  with LIVE MUSIC and our musicians form Latinoamerica  Cesar , Fernando, Nolasco and Ernesto dedicated this song  “Chacarera del Exilio” to   all the exiles and Refugees of NATO-

The success of this conference gives us the courage to continue our actions and the rapprochement between Latin America, North Africa and the countries of the southern Mediterranean for peace, solidarity and socialist democracy.
